Abstract
Today’s business world is very dynamic in nature where firms compete to achieve sustainable growth. This global environment has not only changed the way firms operate and conduct business, but has also created the need for organizations to manage and retain their workforces in a global context. Job embeddedness theory is a relatively new perspective in turnover research and is a collection of forces that influence employee retention. The study attempts to investigate the relationship of job embeddedness with leave intention of employees. The results of the study show that job embeddedness is negatively related to leave intention of employees. The paper also discusses the implications for managers and direction for future research.
